I wanted to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation for all that you did to make our Morgan Creek Investor Annual Meeting so successful! Your keynote presentation was truly remarkable and it far exceeded the expectations of all of us here at the Creek especially our CEO Mark Yusko! I have never seen him sit in the front of the room and take four pages of notes! Now that is something to be said! Although you had so many topics to choose from we are thrilled we chose the topic of “What Makes the Great Ones Great!” Also, positioning you as our closing speaker of the day before our welcome dinner on the Basketball Court of the Dean Dome in Chapel Hill worked our so perfectly and we appreciate you staying and networking with our investors! It was so nice that they had the opportunity to talk with you directly as many of them as also Philanthropists and your comments were extremely important to them.
Not only do you have a fantastic presentation style and great content and stories, but the way you captured the audience’s attention for that one full hour was extraordinary… you could have heard a pin drop it was so intense and everyone was paying such close attention! One of the best parts about your presentation was how you made a link to investors as to how this wasn’t just about sports and that you tied the investment business into the presentation. Morgan Creek is trying to pick the best money managers out there for our clients and you were able to bring it back around so that it made sense to our audience. We all need the skills to recognize What Makes the Great Ones Great as it affects us in every industry. Anyone reading this letter should realize that although Don uses Sports analogies this presentation is not at all about Sports!
