On her very first rugby tackle at Cornell, Shannon Gallagher put her head in the wrong spot and came away with a black eye. Instead of backing down, she discovered something she’s carried ever since: she could do hard things. As an executive at Gallagher Insurance—and a four-time New York City Marathon finisher—Shannon has learned that leadership isn’t about forcing people into the same mold.
