The storyline has gotten a lot of attention these last couple of weeks, but as most anyone who follows sports know, this weekend’s Super Bowl will be the first ever pitting two brothers against each other as the head coach of the competing teams. Jim Harbaugh’s San Francisco 49ers are slight favorites over older brother John Harbaugh’s Baltimore Ravens.

So in next week’s Super Bowl, the San Francisco 49ers will be trying to get back to a mountaintop that they as a team seemed to own in the 1980s. Four times during that decade the 49ers won the world championship. That “dynasty” era began with a play 31 years ago this month that was so iconic that even to this day, it is simply known as “The Catch.”
The road to greatness in sports often looks to us like an unbroken string of successes.
We don’t often see or remember the failures nor do we remember how they were handled.
In the NFC Championship game three weeks ago, San Francisco 49’ers wide receiver and punt returner Kyle Williams mishandled two punts that led directly to a touchdown and a field goal…and indirectly to his team being eliminated from the playoffs.
